What are we learning this week?
- Math - Topic 14 – Multiplying Greater Numbers – Test on 11/19. The test was postponed in order to review more. Beginning Topic 9 - Fractions
- Language Arts - We are starting a new theme: Express Yourself. The Unit Opener is on Monday 11/17. Story: Author, A True Story, Genre: Autobiography, Grammar: Action Verbs
- Writing – Informative, Expository
- Cursive - Students will be writing in cursive instead of printing. Spelling packet and test should be in printing only.
- Vocabulary – talented, single, proper, excitement, acceptance, useful
- Science/Social Studies/Health - No rotations this week. Rotations will resume January 2015. Health Test this Thursday 11/20. A study guide will go home on Monday, 11/17.
Please Note:• Language Arts homework has changed for this week. Monday = Reading Comprehension, Tuesday = Vocabulary, Wednesday = Masterpiece Sentences, Thursday = Depth and Complexity.
• Our third current event of the year is due this Friday, November 11/21. This assignment does not need to be in cursive. Remember to write a detailed gut reaction section. I want to hear your opinion.
• A new style of vocabulary sheets will be sent home this week. These sheets will be used for the rest of the school year.
• Thank you to Kyle’s mom for organizing a craft and turkey celebration for us this Friday. Additionally, thank you to all who are donating supplies for this craft and food for the celebration. It is sure to be a fun time!
